Silksong map FAQ

Leave Bone Bottom heading east into The Marrow and listen for singing. That is Shakra the cartographer. Buy the area map from her (40 to 90 Rosaries each) plus the Quill (50 Rosaries), without which the map never fills in. Repeat in every new region. Inside the Citadel, buy maps from map machines instead.

Her first camp is in the north-west of The Marrow. After that she moves one area ahead of you across roughly 13 camps: Deep Docks, Far Fields, Greymoor, lower Shellwood, Wormways, Hunter's March, Blasted Steps, Sinner's Road, Bilewater, Mount Fay, Sands of Karak and High Halls. Follow the singing.

You can zoom, search for a location by name, tick off what you have collected and export your progress. It is free and needs no login.

The map lady is Shakra, the cartographer and the main Silksong map seller. Find her first in the north-west of The Marrow, east of Bone Bottom. She sings at her camp, so follow the sound. After that she camps in most Outer Pharloom regions, one area ahead of you, selling each area map for 40 to 90 Rosaries plus the Quill, the Compass and the map pins. In the Citadel, map machines sell the maps instead.

There is no flea map to buy from Shakra. The in-game way to find fleas is Vog, a flea hunter who first appears at the top of the Putrified Ducts, above the Bellway station. Pay him Rosaries and he marks the Lost Fleas you are still missing on your map. You reach the Putrified Ducts in Act 2, either with the Faydown Cloak from Mount Fay or through Bilewater after Groal the Great. Before that, use the Lost Flea filter on the interactive map on this site, which works as a flea map from the start of the game.

Silksong has 30 Lost Fleas spread across Pharloom. On the interactive map, untick every marker type except Lost Flea to see only the flea locations, then tick each one off as you rescue it. Rescued fleas join the caravan, which ends up at Fleatopia in the Putrified Ducts.

No. Go to Bone Bottom and strike the town bell. Shakra returns and sells any map you skipped. No map in Silksong is permanently missable.

You need the Quill (50 Rosaries from Shakra, or free on Trobbio's desk in the Whispering Vaults). The map only redraws when you rest at a bench, so explore first, then sit down.

You need the Compass (70 Rosaries) and it must be equipped in a tool slot. It is a tool, not a passive unlock.

Only after you buy the Bench Pin from Shakra. The Bellway Pin, Ventrica Pin and Vendor Pin work the same way: once bought they auto-mark everything you have discovered.

Pharloom has 32 named areas, 28 of which have their own purchasable map. A widely cited fan pixel-count puts Pharloom at roughly twice the size of Hallownest from the first Hollow Knight. It has 84 benches, 43 bosses and over 200 enemies.

32 if you count each Citadel sub-area separately: 25 Outer Pharloom regions plus 7 Citadel sub-areas. Some guides say 29, 28 (the number of maps) or 26 depending on how they group sub-areas.

Buy all 28 area maps, own the Quill, and walk every room, resting at benches to commit what you explored. Four areas have no standalone map: Moss Grotto (part of the Mosslands Map), The Mist, Wisp Thicket (part of Greymoor) and Red Memory.

Two systems. Bellways (12 stations) unlock after you subdue the Bell Beast in The Marrow, with each new station costing Rosaries. Ventricas (7 stations, Act 2 onward) are the Citadel network at 80 Rosaries each, all routing through Terminus in The Cradle. Both stay active at the same time.

No. You cannot get a map for The Mist: Shakra does not sell one and no map machine covers it. The Mist and Red Memory are the two areas with no map at all. The Mist is a deliberately unmappable maze whose rooms are randomised. Play the Needolin near the Silk Flies to learn which exit is correct; eight correct exits get you through.

The Slab map is free. It is not sold by Shakra or a map machine. Pick it up from a bug corpse in one of the central cells of the prison. As with every map, it only fills in when you rest at a bench with the Quill.

Shakra sells the Bilewater Map for 90 Rosaries. Her camp is in a small room north-east of the Bilewater Bellway, on the side that connects to Sinner's Road. If you leave without it, strike the bell in Bone Bottom and she will sell it to you there.

The Abyss map is free and comes from a Weaver rune-map device, not from Shakra. The device is above the bench in the lowest section of The Abyss. Activate it and the area is added to your map. You reach The Abyss in Act 3 by riding the Diving Bell down from Deep Docks.

The Whispering Vaults Map comes from a map machine in a hidden chamber at the top of the main shaft and costs 70 Rosaries. While you are in the Vaults, take the free Quill from Trobbio's desk if you never bought one.

All three come from Shakra. The Greymoor Map (70 Rosaries) is at her tent west of Craw Lake and also covers Wisp Thicket. The Hunter's March Map (70) is on the east side of the area. The Sinner's Road Map (90) is near the bench on the north-west side.

Shakra sells the Mount Fay Map for 40 Rosaries near the lowest bench on the mountain. The Sands of Karak Map costs 90 Rosaries at her camp in the western chamber of the desert.

Seven. The Underworks Map is pinned to a wall in the western chamber, The Slab Map is on a bug corpse in a central cell, the Putrified Ducts Map is on a table in the western room and the Verdania Map is on a bug corpse in the south-eastern camp. Weavenest Atla, Cogwork Core and The Abyss are mapped by activating a device inside the area.

The map image covers all of Pharloom, every one of the 32 named areas across the three acts. Markers are only added once a position is verified against a second source, so a few collectibles are still being placed. The changelog lists every update.

Three. Act 1 ends at the Last Judge, Act 2 ends with Grand Mother Silk in The Cradle, and Act 3 starts with the Silk and Soul wish and ends with Lost Lace in The Abyss.
